Paradise. This is one of the many reasons this exhibit is opening, and why the subject is what it is. Parrots, the simple and elegant bird everyone knows and loves. It's a two-part show exhibiting a finite number of original pieces in both pen, and paper, as well as acrylic on plexiglass. The concept was born from the word "Paradise", creating the story line of "Parrot Dice" and the tropical birds were born. Gold Streak features 24 original Blind Contour pen lines surrounded by a simple white frame. This bird is resting atop a 24k gold leaf branch, some straight and others angled. Showing at Sklarsky Smith Studios in Brooklyn, these parrots are sure to take flight into homes, alone or in groups. The Parrot Dice series is a fun and unique take on the classic game of chance.

The acrylic on plexiglass pieces (Pt.2) are brightly colored and eye-catching, and the pen and paper pieces are delicate and detailed. The story line of the series is based on the concept of paradise, and the tropical birds are the perfect symbol of this. The Gold Streak piece is a beautiful example of the work in this series, with its 24k gold leaf branch and 24 original Blind Contour pen lines. The Sklarsky Smith Studios in Brooklyn is the perfect place to see this series, and the parrots are sure to find new homes there.

An augmented gallery will appear in this site opening night, that will allow you to enter a gallery build out created by Sklarsky in your own home, at your own pace. These Parrots are available to be purchased online and will be sent anywhere nationally. International pricing upon conversation.

Sklarsky Smith Studios is happy to present its latest collection this 2023 season with a tropical future ahead of us all.

Opening in AR and IRL on Jan 26 - Feb 22.

Resting atop a 24k gold leaf branch.

Only 24 of its kind.

Once these birds take flight, they are gone. Never to be created with the same line ever again. Ian Sklarsky has rested 24 pen drawn parrots sitting atop a 24k gold leaf branch.
